Members of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., are gearing up for a Phase II operational readiness exercise Dec. 7. Airmen from the 4th Communications Squadron, 4th Security Forces Squadron and 4th Civil Engineer Squadron are key players in setting up Base X. The 4th CES was first to set up tents in the expeditionary combat skills training area. The 4th SFS then secured the area allowing the 4th CS to set up computer and phone networks, and the giant voice system. This exercise will test the wing's war-time mission, preparing Airmen for real-world taskings and world-wide combat employment.
