The 4th Component Maintenance Squadron provides equipment maintenance support for 95 F-15E and 22 F-15C aircraft from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. and Langley Air Force Base, Va., valued at more than $6 billion. The squadron received a $271 million budget for repair and facilities in fiscal year 2009.

The 4th CMS contains three sections, jet engine intermediate maintenance, modular repair and secondary power. The squadron's Airmen are responsible for testing and repairs on engines and other parts of the aircraft. Airmen from the 4th CMS perform maintenance on avionics, electronic weapons, egress, pneudraulics, electro-environmental and fuel systems to support worldwide peacetime and contingency operations.

All unserviceable parts are sent to the overhaul repair facility located at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., and once the part is repaired it is sent to whichever base needs it most.
