Facility Recognition program pays out for excellence Published Aug. 31, 2009 SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The Facility Recognition Program is standing up to provide Airmen the chance to earn cash to improve their facilities. Nominations for the Facility Recognition Program are due to 4th Civil Engineer Squadron customer service no later than Sept. 9. The winning unit receives $2,500 toward self-help projects and facility upgrades, and a travelling trophy. The intent of the initiative is to re-vitalize the Facility Manager Program and the associated unit pride in maintaining a well-cared-for facility. The program recognizes facilities that meet and exceed program standards. Judging will take place on overall cleanliness, housekeeping maintenance and other items that are within the facility manager's or occupant's control. Each group or tenant unit on base may submit no more than two facilities per quarter. Two chief master sergeants and a 4th CES representative make up the selection team. Inspections are considered "no notice" to further the importance of keeping facilities in order at all times. The selection team recommends a winner to the 4th Mission Support Group commander who will make the final decision. For more information about the program, contact the 4th CES customer service section at 722-5126.
