Guidelines clarify supervision of on-base youth Published Aug. 27, 2008 By 4th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- The installation's youth guidelines cover the acceptable situations that an on-base child may be left under limited or no adult supervision. The policy also addresses other youth situations such as walking to school alone, staying at home without a parent or a sitter, and the acceptable age for sitters. All situations are based on the age of the child, but parents are encouraged to use their judgement if their child is not ready to assume the age-appropriate responsibilities.
