Santa's coming for breakfast Published Dec. 5, 2007 By Staff Sgt. Shawn J. Jones 4th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Santa Claus is coming to town and he wants to fill his belly (the one that shook like a bowl full of jelly). Seymour Johnson's Top 3, a professional organization of senior non-commissioned officers, is hosting the annual Breakfast with Santa event Dec. 8, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the enlisted club. All Team Seymour members and their children are invited to the free pancake and sausage breakfast with America's favorite chimney diver. Children may tell Santa what they want for Christmas. Parents can take home a free photo of their child's wish-list conversation. In exchange for the breakfast festivities, guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the first sergeant's food bank. Top 3 members are expecting to collect a lot of food since Santa usually attracts a big crowd. "This event was enjoyed by over 300 people last year," said Master Sgt. Tonya Darner, a Top 3 member who organized this year's event. "It is an opportunity for parents to enjoy a free pancake breakfast with their children and for the kids to get another opportunity to tell Santa Claus how good they've been." Events like Breakfast with Santa are part of the Top 3's goal of improving the morale and welfare of Airmen assigned to the 4th Fighter Wing. "Spending time with friends and family is an invaluable component of stress relief from the relentless effort of putting airpower on-target, on-time for America," said Master Sgt. Arthur Webb, a Top 3 member who is volunteering at the event. "It's comforting to know my Air Force family helps take care of my actual family." For more information, call 722-1765.
