Financial services offices throughout the Air Force will undergo a transformation in order to better serve Air Force members beginning in October 2008.

All Air Force financial technicians will be stationed in a centralized location and members will communicate with them electronically. Doing so will allow the Air Force to provide improved service on a 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week basis.

The 4th Fighter Wing will transition to this new system in two phases.

The first phase will begin Nov. 31 and should be transparent to our members.

Behind the scenes, the 4th Comptroller Squadron will no longer process documents in house, but will electronically transmit documents to the Air Force Financial Services Center located at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D.

There may be an initial decrease in document processing timeliness while the transition takes place.

Under the current timeline, the AFFSC will become a fully functional call center in October 2008.

As the transition occurs, the 4th CPTS manning will be scaled back, and the face-to-face services available locally will be limited.

In the months leading up to the transition, 4th CPTS will prepare the wing for this transformation.

As with any transformation, there may be unforeseen obstacles to overcome throughout implementation. However, the end result of this transition will be more effective, more convenient customer service for members and a $200 million savings for the Air Force.
