The 4th Security Forces deployed more than 25 troops to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for approximately six months.

The Airmen recently returned from Expeditionary Readiness Training at Creech Air Base, Nev. The training consisted of Islamic culture, squad mission planning, dismounted and mounted patrol tactics, mobile operations in urban terrain, convoy operations, and weapons.

Some of the deployees would say this is nothing new. In fact, they are seasoned veterans, who just returned in September from the region performing a wide range of duties, including base defense, flightline security, base entry, combat arms and vehicle search operations.

Since 2004 they served an average of 358 days in the area of operation.

Twelve of these young men and women have less than one year on active duty.
