Here comes the boom!
The wing weapons safety office demonstrated the hazards associated with the detonation of a bomb dummy unit for weapons loaders, ammo troops, and F-15E aircrews who normally see it from the air Sept 28. The BDU-33 is a practice munition used by the F-15E to simulate the procedures needed to release live ordnance and to provide immediate feedback of where the bomb hit. The BDU-33 was dropped to help Airmen understand hazards involved with training munitions used everyday at Seymour Johnson. (Photo by Airman 1st Class Greg Biondo)
