U.S. Air Force Airmen and civilians participated in a 24-hour vigil commemorating National POW/MIA Recognition Day at the fitness center track located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, Sept. 20, 2024. For 24 hours, participants carried the POW/MIA Flag and names of prisoners of war and those missing in action who didn't return home were read to remember and honor their memory. National POW/MIA Recognition Day is a chance to honor those who were held captive and returned and remember the more than 81,900 Americans still missing from past conflicts.
