Seymour Johnson Air Force Base kicked off the 2015 Combined Federal Campaign on Friday.

The annual campaign provides an opportunity for military members and civilian employees to donate funds to non-profit health, welfare and service organizations.

"Last year we raised approximately $148,000 for local, national and international charities," said Seymour Johnson's CFC Coordinator, Air Force Capt. Casey Shoop.  "This year we hope to increase that to $180,000."

By making face-to-face contact with every member of the Team Seymour family and having CFC team with the bases dynamic, "Make it Better" campaign Shoop is confident CFC will meet and exceed their 2015 goal.

For the first time, individuals are also able to pledge their support online by vising the CFC website at www.senccfc.org. The website provides members an easier alternative to donating to the charity of their choice. On the websites main page, users can click the 'Pledge Online' button and register to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Once completed, the user can choose from more than 1,000 charities to donate to that they are passionate about.

The CFC has also mapped out two fundraising drives for the upcoming weeks with many more to follow.

"We are teaming with Seymour Johnson's Brew Club for the Octobrew Fest event, scheduled to take place Oct 24, at the Eagles Nest Courtyard," said Shoop. "There will be games, fun and food sold with all of the proceeds going to CFC,"

Seymour Johnson will be also be teaming with the Goldsboro, Texas Roadhouse on October 19th and November 2nd with 10 percent of all military checks being donated to CFC.

Col. Mark H. Slocum, the 4th Fighter Wing commander, is excited about this year fund raising campaign and the help it brings to the community,

"The financial commitment to these agencies is a testament to our Airmen's generosity and the desire to make a difference in the lives of other people."

According to Shoop, if every military member and civilian working on the base donates $2.81 a month they will reach their goal.  Shoop is confident Seymour Johnson will meet and exceed their goal.
