The 916th Air Refueling Wing, Air Force Reserve, and the Eastern North Carolina Region of the American Red Cross have teamed up to provide a permanent location for their new American Red Cross-Seymour Johnson field office. A ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the office will take place Aug. 9th, at 10 a.m. at the 916th Air Refueling Wing headquarters building.

The new office will provide Armed Forces Core Services to the men and women of Seymour Johnson and surrounding area. These services include education, information, referrals, family resiliency programming, and emergency services.

Once open, the office will be staffed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Our new Seymour Johnson office will join Red Cross offices on Cherry Point and Camp Lejeune as the three offices that are primarily focused on providing the specific services to our armed forces," said Joshua Cain, director of service to the Armed Forces for the Eastern North Carolina Region.

Media is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and interviews will be available. For more information or to gain access to the base contact Maj. Shannon Mann, 916th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs at 919-260-7902 or e-mail shannon.mann@seymourjohnson.af.mil no later than Thursday Aug. 8th by noon.
