Base housing privatization is officially scheduled to begin Sept. 1. Prior to the official transition, Corvias Military Living will hold an informational Town Hall and several lease signing events to provide updates and help families complete their paperwork.

All current Seymour Johnson base residents are invited to attend a Town Hall at the Base Theater on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. The Town Hall will provide more information on the military-friendly lease known as the Resident Occupancy Agreement (ROA).

Col. Jeannie M. Leavitt, 4th Fighter Wing Commander, will be the first to sign the ROA during an official ceremony at the Town Hall.

"As the wing commander, I want to provide the best quality of life for my Airmen and their families," Col. Jeannie Leavitt, 4th Fighter Wing Commander said. "I am looking forward to the improvements that will be implemented as we enter into this partnership with Corvias Military Living."

While the Town Hall is an optional event, base residents will be required to attend an ROA signing event. The ROA events will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14 through Friday, Aug. 16 at Seymour Johnson's Southern Eagle Dining Facility, located at 1540 Goodson Street in the Highlands Room. Families will be provided an appointment time based on street address. The necessary paperwork will require approximately an hour to complete.

"We are so excited to meet all of our Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Families at the ROA signing events, and to begin serving all of you on Sept. 1," said Sharon Shores, Program Manager for Corvias. "We understand that the military lifestyle can be quite busy at times. It is important that each service member attends their assigned ROA signing appointment, and we thank them in advance for doing so."

Corvias will be responsible for the construction, renovation, maintenance and management of Seymour Johnson's military family housing for 50 years.
