Ejection time
Staff Sgt. Julius Petaway and Senior Airman Jonathan Bertini, both from the 4th Operations Support Squadron, place the drogue parachute in the back of the ejection seat Dec. 4, 2008, on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. A drogue parachute comes out the back of the ejection seat to keep the chair upright so it glides through the air more smoothly. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Whitney S. Stanfield)
