Celebrating the wing’s history
Members of the Association of the 4th Fighter Group World War II celebrated the 70th anniversary of the transfer of the three Eagle Squadrons from the Royal Air Force to the U.S. Army Air Forces at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Sept. 29, 2012. After a memorial service honoring the 128 men of the 4th Fighter Group who lost their lives in World War II, a wreath was placed at the 4th Fighter Group Memorial, located in Memorial Park on the grounds of the Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
