PCSing with pets
Preparing in advance to go through a permanent change of station move with a pet is essential. It can take six months to get a pet up-to-date on their vaccines and travel paperwork. If owners don’t have their pets travel ready, they may be quarantined for three months or may not be allowed to move at all. Visit a veterinary treatment facility or www.aphis.usda.gov, for information about how to prepare a pet for a PCS. (U.S. Air Force photo illustration/Airman 1st Class Mariah Tolbert/Released)
