Airmen turn up the heat during live fire training

Tech. Sgt. Bryan Driscoll, 4th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighter, uses a thermal imager to see through a smoke engulfed room as well as to determine the temperature of the area during structural live-fire training on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., Oct. 24, 2011. The thermal imager also allows a firefighter to locate injured or unconscious personnel without having to enter the room. Driscoll hails from Cheyenne, Wyo. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
