Community stomps out domestic violence with Wife Appreciation Run
A memorial is displayed at the Wife Appreciation Day 5K run/1K walk at Stoney Creek Park in Goldsboro, N.C., Sept. 24, 2011, in honor of Naomi Ruth Estes, a woman who was murdered by her husband in 2003. Every day in the U.S., three women and one man are murdered by their intimate partner due to domestic violence. The family advocacy program office at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., encourages all Airmen to take a stand against domestic violence and seek help if themselves or anyone they know is a victim.
