First flight with a piece of history
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. – The F-15E Strike Eagle 335th Fighter Squadron flagship, displays the Eagle Squadron patch, a green star and the name of the squadron commander, Lt. Col. David Moeller, here July 19, 2011. The Eagle Squadron patch was used by American volunteers who flew for Great Britain in World War II and the green star stands for an air-to-air kill, the only one currently held by an F-15E Strike Eagle.(U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Rae Perry/RELEASED)
