First flight with a piece of history
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. – Lt. Col. David Moeller and Capt. Joseph Stenger perform a pre-flight inspection here July 19, 2011, on the 335th Fighter Squadron flagship before its first flight with heritage patches that date back to World War II. The two patches were displayed on aircraft flown by American volunteers for Great Britain’s Royal Air Force before the United States entered World War II.
