P-51D Mustang finds new home
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. — Members of the 4th Fighter Wing and base contractors watch as a P-51D Mustang is raised to its permanent home in the newly constructed 4th Mission Support Group consolidated support center here July 15, 2011. The plane, which is modeled after 4th Fighter Group commander Col. Don Blakslee’s Mustang in World War II, was originally sold to South America and eventually became property of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.
