December Volunteer of the Month
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Airman 1st Class Jessica Birchum was named the December Volunteer of the Month for her work as a Sexual Assault Response Office victim advocate. Airman Birchum, who is assigned to the 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, hails from Morganton. She decided to begin volunteering after she arrived at Seymour Johnson because in the past when she needed a helping hand she did not have anyone to turn too. She now makes a point to be there for those in her fight and her friends through the SARP or in any other way she can. She said, her favorite part of being a volunteer is being able to help others.
