334th FS celebrates wing’s heritage, 70th anniversary

The first Eagle Squadron, RAF Squadron number 71, was formed Sept. 19, 1940. In September 1942, the 71st Squadron became the 334th Fighter Squadron falling under the 4th Fighter Group.
