SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Airmen 1st Class Marti Scalf and Ralph Santos insert Kevlar plates into flak vests during an individual protective equipment inspection here July 9, 2010. Prior to use, the 4th Logistic Readiness Squadron check all vests and plates for anything rendering it unserviceable such as tears, loose stitching, holes and cracks.
