Local youths take off with STARBASE
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. – Students and volunteers commemorate the first day of their Science and Technology Academies Reinforcing Basic Aviation and Space Exploration experience here June 21, 2010. The STARBASE program is a week-long immersion course in science and math studies for fifth graders. The students visit the base for a week to learn about topics ranging from compass reading to tools used for weather prediction and will witness the laws of motion in action.
