Army, Air National Guard hone skills
SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Army Capt. John Wuest checks Army Sgt. Javier Rivera's vital signs after completing an initial site survey of a simulated chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazard here, March 30, 2010. Before entering a contaminated zone, each responder must have their vital signs recorded to ensure they are physically capable of donning a suit. Immediately after exiting the hot zone responder's vital signs are checked to ensure they were not contaminated and need no further medical assistance. Captain Wuest a physician assistant with the 42nd Civil Support Team North Carolina National Guard, hails from Greenville. Sergeant Rivera, a surveyor NCO with the 42nd CST North Carolina National Guard, is originally from Fayetteville. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Rae Perry)
