Honoring the POW - MIAs
Retired Lt. Col. Norm Taflinger, performs Amazing Grace on the bagpipes during the folding of the American flag in a Prisoner of War - Missing in Action remembrance ceremony at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., Sept. 18, 2009. The bagpipe adaptation of Amazing Grace did not become a part of U.S. military ceremonies until the 1960s. It is often associated with funerals and a remembrance of those killed in war.
