Battle against biology, chemistry
Captain Kylie Maclellan, 4th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, reviews hazardous-materials information in the emergency operations center during a training exercise at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., April 21, 2009. As the officer in charge of the squadron's bioenvironmental engineering flight, Captain Maclellan is one of the commander's primary advisors on chemical and biological threats. During the exercise, the captain provided direction to a hazardous materials response team as they investigated a suspicious package and relayed the team's findings to the operations center's leadership.
