Prayers for pets
U.S. Air Force Chaplain (Capt.) Jesus Navarrete, 4th Fighter Wing chaplain, sprinkles a dog with holy water during the Blessing of Pets ceremony at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., Oct. 24, 2013. According to Navarrete, it is traditional for members of the Catholic Church to gather their critters to be prayed upon during the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals.
