A family’s battle to overcome cancer
U.S. Air Force Airmen attending an NCO Academy visit a Ronald McDonald House in Knoxville, Tenn. in May 2013. The Airmen volunteered at the facility in support of Tech. Sgt. Randy Wilhide, 4th Equipment Maintenance Squadron assistant NCO in-charge of precision-guided munitions, and his family. Wilhide’s daughter, Piper, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a disease in which cancer cells form in nerve tissue of the adrenal gland, neck, chest or spinal cord. (Courtesy photo)
