MARE tests emergency response capabilities
Airmen from the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department and 4th Medical Group attend a simulated victim during a major accident response exercise, April 14, 2015, at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina. Base personnel acted as victims and wore special makeup, or moulage, to simulate life-like injuries and make the training more realistic. The victims were provided with notecards giving them instructions on how to portray their wounds or illnesses and to help emergency response personnel verify their condition in order to provide the correct treatment.
