4th MDSS laboratory collects, analyzes, delivers results

Staff. Sgt. Johnmarth Perez, 4th Medical Support Squadron medical laboratory technician, draws a sample of blood from a patient Jan. 21, 2016, at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina. Samples are collected and analyzed for many types of viruses. Lab technicians work with the bioenvironmental shop to perform presumptive testing for natural and non-natural emergencies such as anthrax, influenza and ebola outbreaks.
