SJAFB pays tribute to mothers
“My mom was so influential in my life that I’ve always wanted to be that sounding board and safe space for someone else like she has been for me,” said Capt. Tisha Yates, 4th Fighter Wing chief of public affairs. “Being a mom means trying to help this tiny human grow into a good person, and at the end of the day, if my kids are kind, hardworking and know they are loved unconditionally, I will call that a success. We’ll figure out the rest as it comes.” As a tribute for Mother’s Day, Yates was interviewed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, May 3, 2022. Yates has been serving in the Air Force since 2015 and has been a mother for three years. Yates is an adoptive mother to an 8-year-old, as well as a mother to 7-month-old twins.
