Royal Air Force Flight Lt. Brian Withington gives opening remarks and a brief history of the Battle of Britain during a piano burning ceremony at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina Oct. 7, 2022. The 4th Fighter Wing traces its roots back to before the United States entered World War II when the RAF Eagle Squadrons 71, 121 and 133 became the 334th, 335th and 336th Fighter Squadrons under the 4th Fighter Group after Pearl Harbor and the U.S. entry into WWII.
