Operation Bug Out links families to readiness

Children of service members greet Sparky the Fire Dog during an “OPERATION Bug Out” kids’ deployment at the fire station located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, Aug. 16, 2024. Children ages five and older were able to learn about a variety of ways their parents maintain readiness and visited various locations including a pre-deployment function line and the 4th Civil Engineer Squadron’s fire station. The mock deployment is an opportunity for the 4th Fighter Wing to impart education and insight to child dependents and provide a glimpse of what deployments mean for military parents.
