The Association of the 4th Fighter Group, World War II and its members celebrated the 70th anniversary of the three Eagle Squadrons being transferred from the Royal Air Force to the U.S. Army Air Forces Sept. 29. Five members of the original 4th Fighter Group, predecessor of the 4th Fighter Wing, gathered with family and associate members in Dayton, Ohio, the day prior. The group attended a memorial service and wreath laying at the 4th FG National Memorial at the Museum of the U.S. Air Force remembering the 128 fliers who lost their lives during WWII.
