SEYMOUR JOHNSON AIR FORCE BASE, N.C. -- Seymour Johnson Air Force Base assisted Goldsboro Police Department and emergency personnel in response to a suspicious package that was found at an off-base establishment on June 14, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m.
As a precautionary measure, responders evacuated people from the location and surrounding area. Explosive ordnance experts assigned to the 4th Fighter Wing checked the package and declared it safe.
“The safety of the local community and our people is our top priority,” said Col. Morgan Lohse, 4th Fighter Wing commander. “Our response teams acted swiftly and safely to help the City of Goldsboro mitigate this potential threat.”
